Wood Horsetail

  • Elegant plant, sterile stem from 30 to 60 cm in length, with delicate branches, drooping downward. Fertile stems shorter with cone bearing the spore casings.
  • Sheaths with 3 to 6 teeths, well separated

  • In spring, growth of the fertile stems (disappearing after some weeks) and of the sterile ones (up to fall)
  • wet meadows, swamps, up to 1600 m in altitude
  • Not common in Vercors : vallon de la Fauge.
